At Evergreen Epoxy, we specialize in turning worn-out concrete into durable, beautiful surfaces--and our concrete overlay system is one of the most powerful tools in our arsenal. Whether you're dealing with cracking, spalling, stains, or just a tired, old look, our overlay system is the perfect solution to breathe new life into your patio or driveway.

What is a Concrete Overlay?

A concrete overlay is a resurfacing system that allows us to repair, restore, and beautify existing concrete without having to rip it out. It creates a new, high-performance surface that bonds to the existing slab--designed to last for years while offering a fresh, clean look.

This system works on most concrete patios, driveways, walkways, and entryways, making it a cost-effective and visually appealing alternative to demolition and replacement.

Why It's Better Than Replacement

Replacing a concrete slab is expensive, messy, and time-consuming. Our overlay process skips the demolition and instead uses high-bonding, industrial-grade materials to coat and repair the existing surface. The result is a seamless, high-strength finish that looks brand new--at a fraction of the cost and disruption.

It also allows us to address minor to moderate surface damage (like chips, cracks, and discoloration), while giving homeowners control over the final texture and finish. Want a smooth surface? We can do that. Prefer a broom finish for better grip? We’ve got you covered.

How We Do It (In Simple Terms)

Every overlay job starts with deep cleaning--pressure washing with over 4,000 PSI to remove dirt, grime, and old coatings. We then carefully mask and protect your surrounding areas and prepare the slab by removing any high spots or loose materials.

From there, we apply a series of specialized coatings:

  1. Fill Coat -- This layer uses a liquid polymer to smooth out imperfections and create a level base. It fills in spalls, chips, and low spots to restore the concrete’s surface.

  2. Texture Coat -- The second layer builds strength and adds subtle texture to the slab. It’s great for both aesthetics and slip resistance.

  3. Final Coat -- This can be finished smooth or with a light broom texture, depending on your preference. It’s the visual and functional surface that you’ll live on day-to-day.

  4. Sealer -- We lock everything in with 2--3 coats of industrial-grade sealer to protect against water, stains, weather, and UV. It also enhances the color and sheen of the overlay.

This entire system is environmentally friendly, incredibly durable, and designed to withstand the Northwest’s climate--from heavy rain to summer sun.

The Benefits for Your Home

  • Long-Lasting Results: High-strength bonding materials ensure the overlay won't peel, flake, or crack under normal conditions.
